Description

Worked for the Prime Brokerage/Stock Lending group on the Loanet Cost Saving Project. The project involved replacing Loanet as the back office and developing an in-house back office.

Responsibilities

  • Developed back-office functionalities like Trade capturing, confirmations, affirmations, cancel-after-affirm, exempts, stock deliveries, book adjustments, fails management, collateral management tools via interfacing to DTCC and ADP application systems for Equities and Fixed income trade flows. SQL Server and Sybase were used for persistence purposes.

  • Developed framework for firm level Stock Borrow and Loans management, in particular, managing the deliveries and receives of stocks in order to precisely arrive at the exposures and positions at firm and individual account levels.

  • Developed the framework for matching settlement notifications with trades, managing the fails and building the stock record using receives and deliveries. Managing the reclaims, adjusting the books and managing the RAD approvals and cancellations.

  • Developed the reporting engine for generating various report used by Operations.

  • Generic solutions for transferring trade files across different plat forms, Windows, Unix and Main- Frame at various location with secured and encryption solutions.

Description

Worked for the Fixed Income Index group as an Application developer/architect. The project was to first migrate from the legacy Solaris platform to Linux and then convert the legacy C code which was used for Index calculation. The Barclays Fixed Income Index are a group of proprietary fixed income Indexes which are disseminated to subscribers.

  • Designing the new Index batch model which involved the loading of security static.

  • Solaris to Linux migration of the existing Index app. This involved migrating the existing Python and C code to Linux and setting up a Prod parallel run on the Linux box.

  • Creating a file mover utility which had a capability to FTP, copy files

  • Setting up an automated Feed, Email and config file diff which compared the intermediator files that were generated during the batch process between the Prod and Prod Parallel run.

  • Creating Reports from the Diff utility and analyzing the differences.
