Description

The aim of developing this project is to control the speed of DC motor. The main advantage in using a DC motor is that the speed –torque relationship can be varied to almost any useful form. To achieve the speed control an electronic technique called PWM (pulse width modulation) is used which generates High and Low pulse. These pulses vary the speed in the motor. For the generation of these pulses a microcontroller (AT89c51) is used. As a microcontroller is used setting the speed ranges as per the requirement is easy which is done by changing the duty cycle time period in the program. This project involves a combination of PWM (pulse width modulation) to drive a DC motor at various speed and in both clock and anticlock direction . PWM is a concept with which one can modify the pulse voltage varying it from 0% duty cycle to 100%. The trick of PWM is we give fast pulses of ON and OFF which DC motor cannot follow. As a result it maintains an average speed as per duty cycle. This project is practical and highly feasible in economic point of view, and has an advantage of running motors of higher ratings. This project gives a reliable, durable, accurate and efficient way of speed of a Dc motors.

Description

Home appliance controlling using a fine combination of Android mobile technology and embedded system. The user can control Home appliance using Android mobile. An Android Application should be installed on Android mobile handset to control various home appliances. It is a DTMF (dual tone multiple frequency) based system consists DTMF decoder and ATmega8 microcontroller. The respective devices connected to the circuit will be turned on or off depending on the command given. At the output side of Home Appliances Controlling using Android mobile, we have connected 5 relay and buzzer. The control information are sent via the remote mobile phone as DTMF tone, the received DTMF tone is then decoded by DTMF decoder MT8870 IC. The output logical signal of the decoder is used as input to the ATmega8 microcontroller. The ATmega8 microcontroller is previously programmed to control home appliances according to output of the DTMF decoder.
