Description

Remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product from discharge unit of printing press or adhesive coating equipment. Review signatures for smearing, register issues, bad folds, etc. and notify the Pressroom. Remove folded signatures from web press and place signatures on pallet or skid for removal to warehouse or binding areas. Adjust stacking mechanism on press according to paper dimensions. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, carts and trays. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other devices. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Assist Press Crew with make-ready of the equipment such as retrieving plates, hanging plates, recycling/storing plates. Perform in-process quality checks of printed materials looking for blemishes, scratches or other print defects. Good knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic warehouse procedures, and the storage areas in order to be able to place or pull paper stock, signatures and materials in accordance with standard procedures. Experienced with hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers, and related equipment. Ability to read job ticket/run sheet information and translate for input into stacker, palletizer and load sheet computer System. Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing material

Determine the causes of equipment malfunction and take appropriate corrective actions.
Communicate effectively with other staff and service personnel on technical matters.
Install, maintain and repair terminal subsystem equipment. Monitor the communications network and identify error and malfunction conditions Perform difficult and varied clerical work involving judgment and requiring attention to details, speed and accuracy. Maintain technical records and files related to computer processing operations. Utilize manuals and other resources to diagnose and solve more complex operational difficulties and hardware malfunctions in the communications network. Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO.) Test backups to ensure we can meet the business’ Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.
Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms. As new systems are brought in-house, choose whether to use clustering, log shipping, mirroring, Windows Azure, or other technologies. Install and configure new SQL Servers. Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors. When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.
