Title : The study of impact of virtual communications on recruitment & selection process, during the pandemic; with special reference to IT companies in various parts of India. Abstract : The COVID-19 turmoil has changed the prepared strategic recruitment plans for almost every organization. So, the default is to envision virtual interviewing as simply leveraging a similar platform for an interview. Therefore, the principal goal of this research is to investigate the impact of virtual communication on hiring and onboarding process by taking candidate experiences into consideration, so that we could identify the main challenges and opportunities, and to provide insights into future directions of virtual hiring. My Role in the project : Ive gone through existing online available articles and papers on the topics: e-recruitement , virtual hiring, traditional methods of hiring, how covid phase is impacting the existing process and what are the new techniques; so that we could differentiate and understand how the hiring process is updating day by day and also learn what are the common challenges. Used online tools like Google scholar for content research and lucidchart.com to design diagrams/flowcharts for the document. Highlights of the project : 1. We wanted realtime survey responses from IT employees across India. Hence, we created a Google form with 12 questions and distributed to IT employees whom we know. 2. Primary data collection method is used along with the simple random sampling method with sample size of 106. The Responses were taken on the Five Point Likert Scale for data analysis and interpretation. 3. 2 of the HR metrics were identified namely: Candidate Experience and Candidate Job Satisfaction. 4. We then Analyzed the 106 responses and interpreted data with the help of interactive dashboard that consists of pie charts and graphs. Conclusion : We then concluded that the 5 major challenges of virtual hiring were : lack of internet (36%), Lack of software/hardware(13%), Connectivity issues(84%), Geographical location(45%), Time consuming factor(47%). Besides these challenges, 89% of respondents state that they like the usefulness of virtual communications during a pandemic.
